I'm most worried about the city inspector. The deck and first runs of the rooms were done without permits. The non permitted work started when an electrical inspector lied to me almost screwing over my 3 weeks of time off plans for the first work I did on the house back in 2006. I've undone all of it now except the floor in the attached garage and the bay window. So if I get a good inspector should be no issue. If I get one who takes pleasure in power tripping this concrete job could look like the easy part

    Amazing. Somewhere I'd never go.

Good for you. I've got some DIY not code electrical work here too. But all that concrete demolition blows my mind.

Glad the crack isn't a major set back, good luck with the inspector!

An acquaintance does concrete reinforcement. Core & pour. Buildings. Bridges roadways. It’s quite a science and business.

    Sorry about your stress level.

No work getting done today while walls cure. Not sure exactly how long they will have to cure before backfill can happen. 6429d824f77fe95cf6d56eb77ac78e86.jpg fb83ca93aa9ff41ed7d01b791e11829d.jpg

Forms are off. Water proofing done and foam added. Forms in place for the top floor pour. They are finishing the last of the cutting today. Weather will likely prevent the pour happening but should on Monday along with the backfill.

Passed the prebackfill inspection and the city inspector was good. Gave me no grief, and said I should submit plans for the deck to be added to my current permit and pointed out 3 trivial things I'd have to change with the deck. 53c4b1fd955faf8d6684ae2c99fb5782.jpg 7cf6e275f1b05461a51eb81b0a29b7c4.jpg 3b9d5c58a5345b082723cd87ab7c848e.jpg c795c01c6e59c0c766dabee36da8b464.jpg

Took the afternoon off to get the hole in the house finally sealed up. Only siding left to put on this weekend. Then on to framing the walls for the new entrance, followed by building the stairs for both rooms.

Contractors didn't separate the top soil so lost my top soil for the shrub bed and they've left the yard a mess. Joy more work. b2f0b411f1803336dee4a6616d262ceb.jpg 529740fbde66dff9797104734d196186.jpg 363b6d439b8be6ad718f2257483d6d70.jpg 1fec3d024234ab8741e96ad52b2841f1.jpg aaa66c7dd8950787f1950c045d589d60.jpg 1d7c930d835a60d2f07f05ca3e3d3ad8.jpg
