New Netflix, reboot of a great series. So love what I see so far and hope they do justice to the original. Even the movie was good. Super excited for this...

Thanks for sharing. One of my favorite things to play for people (and ask if they know who it is) is the first cut from Bill Mumy's CD (and the whole CD is pretty good)

Just finished the first episode. Really well done. Has some serious potential. If the rest of the series matches or betters the first episode this will be a must watch.

The production value is there and blows away the movie in that regard. I’ve watched most of the series now and I am a bit bored by it. Still, better than I expected from the trailers.

We watched the first episode last night. Was bored to tears until the robot showed up, and the family drama is TOOO TV soap opera. I hope they cut back on that crap.

Watched the entire series over Friday and Saturday. Really enjoyed it, although it got a little too melodramatic from time to time. It doesn’t have the comedic elements of the original and this version of Smith is much more of a psycopath than the original; neither of which is a bad thing. Hope it comes back for a season 2.

Watched it over the weekend. Good popcorn show. Thought the Dr Smith character played by Parker Posey was a bit over the top. Loved the pic and sound. Shook the crap out of my house without running the subs hot. I was shocked. Gotta tell the landlord there is some loose drywall. LOL

Trivia: The real Dr Smith you see in Ep 1 is the original Will Robinson. ;)

Through episode 3, and I'm enjoying it. Not the greatest TV, but far from the worst.

I'll give this one a solid adequate. I'm not mad that I watched it, but I'll wait for the reviews on season 2. If they do it.

Late to the party on this one.

We watched all the episodes and for me it was a struggle. Like DYohn mentioned, there was way too much soap opera stuff going on, and add to that the suspension of belief for a lot of the show, especially the ending, like floating around space on a chunk of a spacecraft that just happens to have power to help save them.

Hoping season 2 is much more action packed or I'll have to ditch this one.

Watched the first 3 episodes of season 2 last night, more of the same... excellent production values, but good, not great TV.

I've watched the entire season 2. I'm not much of a TV show person (more movies or documentaries) and if the TV is on it is mostly a news type show like Dateline or sports. I enjoyed the series. The good and bad thing about Netflix is that one can watch the entire series easily over a few nights. But then there is a long wait until the next season.

Somehow missed this thread. I don't get netflix so haven't seen the new stuff. But, I thought the original series way back when was cheesy, tacky badly written with crappy fx, but I watched it anyway. :) I read years ago that CBS actually turned down Star Trek for it. Wonder if that's true. Had high hopes for the movie, but though it well and truly sucked. Did not know there was a new series till catching this thread, but have no desire to subscribe to anything just to find it.

I'm watching this now. I could do without the entire Dr. Smith character / plot lines. At this point I'll finish season 2, but it's kind of like playing the same game of chess over and over again, every character does exactly the same things for the same reasons with basically the same outcomes. With that said, I do feel compelled to watch one more episode, over and over again, which is more than I can say for many other shows I've started and abandoned after one episode or less :)

Same thing over and over. Hmm.

Ground hog day, movie should appeal to you. Or that Tom hanks future war movie where he relives then same battle over and over. Then there is the guy on the train who had to relive the train crash over and over till he can catch the bad guy.

That's exactly why I am not a huge fan of most TV series. A few things are changed around with mostly the same cast of characters with a range of substantially similar outcomes. I tend not to watch tons of TV for that reason. Don't know how many times someone has raved about a particular TV series and then after watching a few episodes, I was thoroughly bored with it. As I noted earlier, a good thing about a Netflix series is that one can watch all the episodes rapidly. I particularly used to hate TV shows where they broke an episode into a couple of shows. Sometimes, but not often (usually late at night), I'll watch old shows on MeTV and I run across one of those episodes (without realizing it) and I feel like I just wasted an hour.

Cruise, not Hanks :) I enjoyed that one, it had hot chicks and robots.
