Ok it has earned its own thread..

The more I see this show the more I like it. In ep 2 I thought OMG this thing is going to be great as it builds, but ep 3 knocked it out of the park, Really like how they are building out the story and the world but this ep pretty much set the tone for the rest of the season.

no spoilers but wholly crap it is cool.

The Ending of Episode 3 was like watching Slave One flying in space during "Attack of the Clones" or the Millennium Falcon "just flying" in any Star Wars Movie. My jaw just dropped and my inner-geek knocked down the door!!!!

We're really digging this too and I'm liking the weekly release format to be honest.

Episode 7 was a big one for this series. "The Reckoning" title speaks for itself considering how most of the individual characters had some type of revelation. Juancarlo Eposito's introduction to the series and his actions made a permanent mark figuratively and literally on the series as a whole.

Deborah Chow directed some of the most memorable episodes of The Mandelorian. I have full confidence in her when it comes to the Obi Wan series.

The ending of episode 8 was an "ohh shiiiiiii..." moment for a lot of viewers including myself.

We are most of the way thru this now. I think I may be along in saying this is a bit weak. Hero meets locals, trains to fight foe, moves on.... seriously I have only seen that 1000 times. I am enjoying it, but man it is a bit thin.

It likely won't change the way you feel but that aspect is intentionally an homage to old serial westerns.

I like it enough to watch, but it is falling below expectations for sure.

I just signed up for D+ and watched it. I too thought it started pretty slow and bland. Maybe because all the Baby Yoda hype was over. But really, nothing happens, IMO there's no real character development in the first few episodes, the episodes felt random / fractured, too much screen time given to bar scenes and "ooh look a <insert made up SW race name here>", overly done dramatic music when Mando figures out which gun he has to climb on to finish the episode.

By the end I had changed my mind, I think the writing tightened up, and the last few episodes were really good.

I just finished the first season. I agree the last couple of episodes were an improvement, but I would say it was just a step in the right direction. I think people expect more from a series like this now.

I don't think that's unreasonable. It was fairly decent budget, tied to major IP, and a big anchor for the entire D+ service. When it launched you basically had Disney Channel and Disney movie catalog titles and this show.

Also "Baby Yoda" this pretty much cannot be Yoda as we know/knew him. Also should not be Yoda's child unless he broke the Jedi code.
The Mandalorian takes place after Yoda checked out. I guess anything is possible.

I'm hoping its not too tied to Yoda directly.
