    It's a pretty gritty movie. You should see it.

    I always preferred “Superfly" because of the (IMO) superior soundtrack. But “Shaft" is a must watch and a better movie. I never saw the SLJ Shaft...is it worth watching?

    The previews for 2019's "Shaft" look good. And there is the cast, which includes Samuel L Jackson and more. But I get a bit nervous when the critics are offered no view until it hits the theaters. I'll be going... but.

    BTW, some early ads showed Titus Welliver in the cast. He is not listed on IMDB for this movie. Perhaps his performance ended up on the cutting room floor.

    Titus Welliver is indeed in the movie. Sadly, the flick is tepid. There is some inter-generational humor as well as some non-PC laughs. And my wife liked it more than I did. (!)
