Audtek Summer Speaker Wire Blowout
Harrumph no flowery prose. No purity statement.
Yes there was, "oxygen free copper"
6N...i surely hope so.
"This wire will lift veils on virgins for miles around. And it's as pure as an Amish maiden at a biker rally."
I use this...
Southwire 50 ft. 18/5 Brown Solid CU CL2 Thermostat Wire-64169640 - The Home Depot
I bet it produces a not too warm timbre, balanced dynamics
Exactly, not too warm, not too cool, exactly what you'd expect from thermostat wire
Seriously though, I do feel interconnects and speaker wires make a difference, but the snake-oil marketing is ridiculous, and more money doesn't equate to better sound, even though it's likely different.
Solid core wire is a PITA if you ask me.
Very good wire...for electrical installations. But I won't use any wire that isn't OFC for audio applications. OFC is one of the few real differences there is in audio copper wire applications. And by that I mean differences that can actually be measured AND heard.OFC not only has significantly greater corrosion resistance than standard than non-OFC wire, removing the oxygen also makes it a better conductor than non-OFC wire.
The only non-exotic materiel that is a better conductor than OFC is pure silver and a few silver alloys. Unfortunately, pure silver is not only prohibitively expensive, it is also extremely prone to corrosion and there is no real practical method of increasing silver's corrosion resistance that doesn't also eliminate it's advantages as an audio conductor.
Only during set-up, after that, it just sits there ;-)
Audtek Summer Speaker Wire Blowout - what happens to the wires after the summer is over?
I'll still love you after the wires of summer are gone
