I'm leaving for a family trip on Saturday to the UK. We fly into Glasgow for a day then go to Edinburg for a few days before heading south of the wall to visit my family in N. Yorkshire. It'll be my wife and kids 1st time in Europe so it should be fun to see their reactions to where I was born.

Many years ago asked a taxi driver in Stevenage why UK being in EU still uses pound sterling and miles - boy was he indignant!!

Been to London a few times, and train trips not to far away. We've never been north or to Scotland, but I'd love to go. Hope your family enjoys it.
