    A friend of mine runs a restaurant in my hometown of Hannibal MO and just told me they have a new menu item: a bacon cheeseburger alfredo. Holy shit.

    I once had the idea that grilled cheese sandwiches were rather bland and lacking in something. Then it occurred to me that a grilled cheese with bacon might be good. Never tried doing it though.

    I don’t eat bacon, but 100 million other people love bacon on anything and everything it would seem.

    That's minor league. A friend of mine closed his restaurant about a year ago. Here's the menu: Biancos Big League Family Eatery and note this burger:

    take the big league challenge and try to k the babe!! two of our seasoned 10oz. burgers, stacked high with grilled ham & cheese sandwich, applewood smoked bacon, cheese, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, pickles, served with a pound of fries. if you can clean your plate and k the babe in 30 minutes all by yourself you will receive an official l k'd the babe t-shirt and get your name on the big league wall of fame."

    Bacon is scientifically proven to be the most delicious substance on the planet, and I love it, but even I have to look at some of this stuff and go “blech I cannot eat that”. Just too over the top.

    My son and I made dinner for my wife for Mother's Day. Chicken Alfredo, with wait for it... bacon. It was really nice.

    There's a burger restaurant called Slater's 50/50. 50/50 is literally the composition of one of their burger patty options: 50% ground bacon/50% ground beef!

    Love bacon! I also use pancetta, an Italian spiced but not smoked bacon. I buy it cut about 1/4" thick, and cut it into small cubes before frying. It's especially good with sauteed broccoli rabe over spaghetti. I've also crisped prosciutto in a dry pan when I make Alfredo. It's not as fatty as bacon, but it's salty and porky, yum.

    I have no problem with burgers or with bacon, even together, but covered in ALFREDO SAUCE??

    Just an update from my friend Patty. She just told me that she put both an 8-ounce sirloin and a "Half-Pound" sirloin sandwich on her special menu. She said nearly everyone who ordered it wanted the half-pound version and one customer asked "why the smaller one costs the same."

    I fear for the American education system.
